Thermal double stimulated Mandelstam-Brillouin scattering in a plasma

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Fizicheskij Inst.

Description

Theory of thermal double stimulated Mandelstam-Brillouin (DSMBS) scattering occuring of pasma density its perturbations wave length exceeding the free parth, and conditioned by inhomogeneous plasma heating rather than by striction force is developed. Thermal DSMBS absolute instability thresholds which appear to be lower than convective thermal SMBS ones and striction DSMBS thresholds are calculated. The theory presented allows one to explain the experimentally observed low threshold at small angles of radiation incidence on the target
