Radiographic properties of X-ray equipment. Necessity and reality

  • 1. Bundesanstalt fuer Materialpruefung, Berlin (Germany, FR)

Description

The subject of this paper is an important part of the quality assurance of X-ray testing itself. The paper demonstrates that in the case of X-ray testing the parameters of the X-ray unit must fulfill certain minimal requirements in order to perform different testing procedures correctly and efficiently. This brings up the question, which deviations of radiation energy and intensity are permissible in practice, also considering economic aspects. 2 refs
