More than 400 participants got together in Mainz on 21 and 22 January 1980 on the occasion of the 6th International Information Meeting of the German Atomforum e.V. In 16 speeches and detailed discussions, the topic 'Nuclear Energy with the background of the world's energy situation' was dealt with. The numerous problems of energy supply of today and tomorrow were mentioned and discussed very frankly and clearly. It is already time to seriously deal with the measures of energy-restructuring. Therefore, it was the reason and the motto of this meeting to determine the world's present energy situation, thus providing the necessary help to all those who need this survey to be able to act and decide. Abstract (German)

Ueber 400 Teilnehmer trafen sich am 21. und 22. Januar 1980 in Mainz zur 6. internationalen Informationstagung des Deutschen Atomforum e.V. In 16 Referaten und ausfuehrlichen Diskussionen wurde das Thema 'Die Kernenergie vor dem Hintergrund der Weltenergielage' behandelt. Die vielen Probleme um die Energieversorgung von heute und morgen wurden dabei in sehr sachlicher Form offen und klar angesprochen und diskutiert. Die Zeit, in der die Massnahmen zur Energieumstrukturierung ernsthaft angegangen werden muessen, ist schon da. So war Sinn und Motto dieser Tagung, den Istzustand der Weltenergielage festzustellen und damit allen, die diesen Ueberblick brauchen, um handeln und entscheiden zu koennen, die notwendigen Hilfen zu geben.
