Description
We have studied the properties of the surface superconductivity of unixial (in particular, layered) superconductors in which the crystal axis is arbitrarily oriented with respect to the surface. We obtain expressions for the upper critical field H/sub c/3 in the case of a semi-infinite superconductor and of thin films when the magnetic field is either parallel to the surface or at some angle relative to it. When the magnetic field is parallel to the surface of the superconducting layer we find that there is a component of the suerconducting current which is parallel to the field for an arbitrary orientation of the crystal axes relative to the surface
