Feasibility of lead removal from industrial effluents by sulphate reducing bacteria
Creators
Description
Battery manufacturing wastewater contains high concentration of sulphate and lead at low pH values. Biogical treatment by anaerobic reduction of sulphate to sulphite, with organic matter as electron donor, increases alkalinity and allow precipitating lead as sulphide. the type of organic matter, COD/SO4 ratio and lead concentration over sulphate reduction rate are investigated in this work.
