Description

Medical exposure is of particular interest as it contributes the highest man-made doses in the population. The practical possibilities to provide adequate diagnostic information at the lowest possible cost with the least possible exposure of the patient were determined. Within the WHO Coordinated Programme on Quality Assurance in Diagnostic Radiology a retake analysis (analysis of rejected films) and a study on equipment performance were carried out. The study was performed using physical test objects: timing and mAs test kit, focal spot test tool, wide-range kVp cassette and test patterns. The determinations were done in 3 radiodiagnostic departments in Bucharest, on 12 X-ray radiographic machines. (author)
