Why what isn't how
Description
The Human Factors Group, Northeast Utilities (NU) developed a writer's guide to help personnel improve plant procedures. To accomplish this task, the authors evaluated a sample list of existing plant procedures. This was followed by a review of over 30 writer's guides collected from various NU departments. The group believed that a different approach must be taken in developing a writer's guide if it is to be effective. This paper presents the major points contained in the NU guide and suggests that it can be used as a model by other utilities
