Processing of informative data of coal logging for mining purposes

Knowing the composition of the coal, i.e. the volume weight-ash content and the volume weight-heating value connections the heating value can be determined for carbonateless coal with an accuracy of +-60 kcal/kg using the γ-γ sondes. For carbonate-containing dead rock the carbonate content can be calculated on the basis of the resistivity and of the hydrogen index. In case of water-storing sand the resistivity and the natural γ profiles can be used for the determination of the areal distribution of water hazard. (author)
