Description
SEA-CURE condenser tubing has been evaluated for saline and brackish water cooled power plant condenser service. This new ferritic stainless steel (27.5Cr - 3.4Mo - 1.2Ni) has provided good chloride corrosion resistance and has not exhibited susceptibility to any other form of water or steam attack. A low fouling tendency provides good heat transfer, and high stiffness and fatigue strength allow it to be used with normal support plate spacing. Installation characteristics are excellent in regard to loading, tube rolling, and flaring. Based on this successful experience, SEA-CURE is now considered whenever tubing is required for condensers operating on saline and brackish water in the U.S.A., and has been specified for ten full condenser installations over the past three years
