Improvement of nuclear design method for large LMFBR cores by means of cross-section adjustment
- 1. Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corp., Oarai, Ibaraki (Japan). Oarai Engineering Center
Description
An advanced nuclear design methodology for large LMFBR cores is now studying to improve the accuracy of the core-parameter prediction based on the results of the JUPITER fast critical experimental analysis by means of cross-section adjustment method. The present paper first introduces the principle of the cross-section adjustment and compares the new method with the traditional bias-factor method from the viewpoint of nuclear design. The latter part briefly summarizes the current status of this study. (author)
