The contribution of technetium pyrophosphate bone scintigraphy to the determination of the extent of a prostatic cancer. About 100 cases

Description

An experience with bone scintigraphy as part of an overall investigation of a patient with prostatic cancer prior to any treatment was reported. This experience was based on a series of 100 cases. Emphasis was laid on the value of this diagnostic method that makes it possible to detect radiologically undetectable bone metastases in 25% of the investigated patients

On a rapporte une experience d'utilisation de la scintigraphie osseuse dans le bilan initial pre-therapeutique des cancers prostatiques a propos d'une serie de 100 cas. On a insiste sur l'interet de cette methode diagnostique qui a permis de demontrer l'existence de metastases osseuses sans traduction radiologique decelable, chez un malade sur quatre de la serie etudiee
