Description

The case was a 66 year old male patient suffering of severe chest pain of a sudden onset and choc. ACG and laboratory data were not in favor of myocardial infarction. A CT examination of the thoracic aorta was done to rule out a dissecting aneurysm. Conclusion has proved that CT techniques has many advantages and should be the first screening examination and often the only one in the diagnosis of dissecting aneurysm of the aorta, especially when the condition of the patient does not allow for unnecessary delays before treatment. 3 refs. 4 figs
