The paper described the regulatory basis for safe removal of spent fuel assemblies from the floating storage facility «Lepse» in 2005. • Principles of safe management of spent nuclear fuel and spent fuel assemblies SFAs. • Conditions of storage of spent fuel at the facility, planing of defueling and safety arrangements. • Legal and regulatory documents that are relevant to this project are presented.
