Studies on pre-commercial scale irradiation of onions and garlic to control sprouting

Description

Public opinion in Argentina seems to be in favour of irradiating onions to control sprouting, and irradiated onions and garlic have a much extended shelf-life over non-irradiated controls. On the basis of this information it appears to be economically beneficial to develop the technology for food irradiation in Argentina
