Record-keeping in a radiation safety office by timesharing digital computer

Description
Computer programs in BASIC language have been written for the maintenance of an accurate and current inventory of radioactive materials on the campus of the University of Colorado Medical Center. Data files stored in the computer are updated daily for decay of radioactive sources and for influx and outflux of radioactive materials in the Center, and a listing of these files provides a record of the current possession of radionuclides by each authorized user in the institution. Use of these programs not only has enhanced the service and regulatory functions of the Radiation Safety Office, but also has increased the accuracy of record-keeping and reduced the accumulation of radioactive waste in clinical and research laboratories in the Medical Center.
