Search for nucleon decay in the Frejus detector
Description
Search for nucleon decay based on two years of data taken with the FREJUS detector is presented with an exposure of 670 ton.years (fiducial). 73 neutrinos events are recorded. A detailed analysis of this sample is presented including visible energy distribution, track multiplicities, and discrimination between electron and muon neutrinos. The data are in good agreement with Monte Carlo predictions using atmospheric neutrino flux calculations. The total neutrino interaction rate with an energy above 300 MeV is 150/kt.year. An analysis of nucleon decay with a charge lepton based on 3 prongs events results in one candidate. Neutrino background processes for this event are investigated
