Description
Three patients were diagnosed as having DeBakey type III aortic dissection by CT and received drug administration at the acute phase. Two of them underwent operation. In one patient in whom cystic aneurysm associated with DeBakey type IIIa was formed, the site at the entry to the aorta was closed. In another patient with DeBakey type IIIb in whom the re-entry and cystic aneurysm occurred at the abdominal aorta under the renal arteries, fenestration and removal of aneurysm were performed. The prognosis in two patients was favorable. The dissected lumen was closed 2-4 months after operation. All of the patients could return to the social life under the management of blood pressure. CT is useful in the diagnosis and follow-up of this disease because it is non-invasive and can be performed repeatedly. (Namekawa, K.)
