Effect of alloying elements on the structure and mechanical properties of austenitic ageing steels at low temperatures
Creators
Description
The structure and properties were studied at temperatures of +20 and -196 deg C in ageing austenitic 40Kh12G14N1OF and 40Kh12G14N13F steels with constant concentrations of carbon and vanadium and variable nickel, manganese and chromium concentrations. The microstructural and mechanical test data for the specimens with different alloying element contents indicate that by varying the concentrations of nickel, manganese and chromium it is possible to control the relationship between strength, ductility and toughness at low temperatures of austenitic Mn-Ni steels strengthened during ageing by the fine particles of vanadium carbide, Vc
