Application of synchrotron radiation (Part 1). Stress evaluation using monochromatic X-rays

Creators

Description

It has been a long time since synchrotron radiation facilities were built in Japan, and new facility construction is also underway. It seems that the research and application of material evaluation using synchrotron radiation will continue to develop in the future. The previous paper explained the basic items of stress/strain evaluation using quantum beams (synchrotron radiation or neutrons). This paper introduces the items related to the residual stress of coating, welding, and coarse particles as the themes applying high energy synchrotron radiation. It also describes stress evaluation using monochromatic X-rays obtained from a spectroscope. (A.O.)
