Synchrotron radiation power distribution from multipole wiggler magnet
Description
A 6 Tesla superconducting Wiggler will be installed in Hefei Synchrotron Radiation Light Source (HLS) to produce hard X-ray. The Wiggler is the primary part and one of the key technologies for the third generation light source. The power angular distribution of Wiggler Synchrotron Radiation (WSR) is closely related to the design of vacuum system for storage rings, beamlines and experiment stations. It is also a problem which must be comprehended by researchers using WSR. WSR power distribution depends on the electron energy and the magnetic form of the Wiggler. From the power distribution formula of Synchrotron Radiation from Bend Magnet (BSR) and the pile-up concept of multipole Wiggler, the author deduced a series of formulas which are very practical and useful. They have been applied and verified in the design of the modified sector of the HLS storage ring vacuum system
