Development of RF amplifiers for multi harmonic buncher (MHB) cavity operating at 20.3125 MHZ and its harmonic frequencies

  • 1. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)

Description

A low energy bunching structure for bunching the dc beam of FOTIA by using a multi harmonic buncher (MHB) is being developed at BARC. The MHB requires RF amplifiers operating at 20.3125 MHz, 40.625 MHz and 60.9375 MHz with power levels of 188 W, 75 W and 37 W respectively for bunching. This will be applied to grid of the buncher as a composite RF power waveform via a special tank circuit. The amplifier design for each of these frequencies is based on Push-Pull, N-Channel MOSFET. These amplifiers are being developed at BARC. This paper describes and discusses the design details and test results achieved. (author)
