Evidence of charge collective effects in Na laser photoionization

  • 1. Pisa Univ. (Italy). Ist. di Fisica

Description

The importance of collective plasma interactions has been demonstrated in a three-photon ionization experiment of a sodium atomic beam. The dependence on experimental parameters as beam density, laser power, and externally applied electric field, has been investigated. Relevant deviations from those expected for noninteracting charges are explained in terms of mutual electron-ion interactions
