Single-phase sodium pump model for LMFBR thermal-hydraulic analysis
Description
A single-phase pump model is developed for transient simulation of LMFBR systems. Pump characteristics are modeled by homologous head and torque relations encompassing all regimes of operation. Results show the model to yield excellent agreement with experimental data in sodium for the FFTF pump, and with vendor calculations for the CRBR pump. A sample pipe rupture calculation is performed to demonstrate the necessity for modeling the complete characteristics. 14 refs
