Description
The Canadian program of research into the behaviour of CANDU fuel under abnormal conditions is reviewed. The program objective is to develop physically-based computer models and verify them against experimental data. Performance in low-temperature accidents (below about 1500 kelvin) should be well established by 1988; by 1990 the consequences of severe fuel damage conditions should be quantified
