Radiation dose reduction in the wide-volume mode

Description
With the Wide Volume Mode (WVM), the radiation exposure of a CT examination can be reduced without compromising the image quality. In particular, patients who need repeated computed tomography examinations and thus absorb a high cumulative radiation dose over the years, such as patients with interstitial lung disease (ILD), could benefit.

Mit dem Wide-Volume-Modus (WVM) kann die Strahlenbelastung einer CT-Untersuchung reduziert werden, ohne die Bildqualität zu beeinträchtigen. Insbesondere Patienten, die wiederholt computertomografisch untersucht werden müssen und so über die Jahre eine hohe kumulative Strahlendosis aufnehmen, wie z. B. Patienten mit interstitiellen Lungenerkrankungen (ILD), könnten davon profitieren.Additional details
