Elastic scattering of electrons by complex atoms at intermediate energies
Description
To explore the applicability of the modified Born approximation to complex atoms, the elastic scattering of electrons by C. O and Ne atoms in the intermediate energy range 45-750 eV is investigated. For comparison the method of partial wave is also employed. It is found that the modified Born approximation fails to explain the experimental differential cross-sections for Ne and is quite different from those obtained by partial wave method for C, O and Ne atoms.
