Complexing of bivalent lanthanides and actinides

  • 1. RAN, Inst. Fizicheskoj Khimii, Moscow (Russian Federation)

Description

New data on behaviour of Ln2+, An2+ and Sr2+ in different systems were presented. 4-f and 5-f elements were compared with each other and with their analog - strontium. On the basis of investigations of cocrystallization in different solvents it was established that bivalent actinides and lanthanides are strong donors of electrons and can form strong coordination bonds at the expense of charge transfer on solvent molecules. For the first time complexing of bivalent f-elements with BF4- and ClO4- ions in tetrahydrofuran solutions was detected. Stability of these complexes increased from BF4- to ClO4-. Complexing of Sr2+ in these conditions was not derived. Complexes of [M(18-crown-6)]L2 (M - Ln2+, Sr2+; L - ClO4-, BF4-, BPh4-) were synthesized and studied and solubility of Es2+ analogous complexes was determined
