Description
Results from DDHF calculations of the momentum distribution are presented. The bulk features are explained starting from simple models for the Wigner transform and the nuclear density. Explicit estimates for the volume, surface, and higher order contributions to the momentum distribution are given, showing that finite-size effects exlain the strong difference between the momentum distribution in finite nuclei and in nuclear matter.
