Simultaneous determination of the distribution of several carrier-free lanthanides in rats

Description

8 rats were given intravenous injections of 0.3 ml rare earth citrate. At the moment of administration the rare earth citrate solution contained the radionuclides 171Lu, 172Lu, 169Yb, 167Tm, and 155Tb as carrier-free isotopes with a total activity of 30 μCi. At 2.5, 24, and 96 hours after injection, the animals were decapitated and bled. The radionuclides were simultanously determined in blood, kidneys, liver, spleen, muscles, bones, urine, and feces by gamma spectroscopy. The results are tabulated
