A nonlinear Lagrangian MFE method for ideal MHD
Description
A nonlinear moving finite element method (MFE) for ideal magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) is developed and tested. The method is based on a variational principle in Lagrangian formulation of ideal MHD. A set of various FEM discretization based on this method is investigated in terms of stability, convergence and energy conservation properties
