Relativistic and non-relativistic geodesic equations
- 1. Camerino Univ., Camerino, MC (Italy). Dipt. di Matematica e Fisica
Description
It is shown that any dynamic equation on a configuration space of non-relativistic time-dependent mechanics is associated with connections on its tangent bundle. As a consequence, every non-relativistic dynamic equation can be seen as a geodesic equation with respect to a (non-linear) connection on this tangent bundle. Using this fact, the relationships between relativistic and non-relativistic equations of motion is studied
