Description
Simple theory based on the knowledge of Equation of State (EOS) has been developed to study the thermodynamic properties of CaF2 with fluorite type structure and zinc oxide with wurtzite and rocksalt structure under varying conditions of pressure and temperature. The pressure and temperature dependence of V/V0, thermal expansivity and isothermal bulk modulus, has been computed. The results are compared with the available experimental data. A good agreement obtained between theory and experiment supports the validity of the present approach. (author)
