Recent results from the Bugey neutrino oscillation experiment

  • 1. I.S.N. 53, Av. des Martyrs 38026-GRENOBLE CEDEX, France

Description

The energy spectrum of electron antineutrinos has been measured at two distances, 13.6 and 18.3 meters, from the core of a PWR power reactor at Bugey (FRANCE). About 63000 antineutrinos events have been recorded using the inverse β-decay reaction ν/sub e//sub $-bar//sub +p//sub →//sub n+e<+/. A significant difference in the counting rate between the two positions has been observed. The compatibility of the results with solutions in a two-neutrino oscillation analysis is discussed
