Measurement of the Q2 evolution of the proton spin structure function gp1
Creators
Description
The ratio g1/F1 has been measured over the range 0.03 < x < 0.6 and 0.3 < Q2< 10 (GeV/c)2 using deepinelastic scattering of polarized electrons from polarized protons. Three beam energies (9.7, 16.2, and 29.2 GeV) and two spectrometer angles permit a wide range in Q2 to be studied at each bin in x. g1pF1p shows a statistically significant rise with increasing Q2, in agreement with the trend of QCD calculations
