Description
In the present study, unattached fraction and Equilibrium Equivalent concentration (EEC) of 222Rn (Radon) and 220Rn (Thoron) have been calculated using Deposition based progeny sensors (DRPS/DTPS). The separate attached and unattached progeny concentration in units of EEC have been measured in the dwellings of Doaba region of Punjab (India). An attempt has also been made to estimate the annual effective dose for 222Rn and 220Rn in the studied area. The annual effective dose originated from 222Rn and 220Rn EEC was lower than recommended values and health risk is negligible. (author)
