Description

Thin Armco Iron foils with a Tin coating deposited by ion-plasma sputtering and subjected to isothermal annealing at 650°C have been studied by Mössbauer spectroscopy. The formation of intermetallic compounds FeSn and Fe 3Sn 2, as well as a solid solution of Tin atoms in a-Fe(Sn), was revealed. The possibility of obtaining a thermally stable layered spatially inhomogeneous Fe 3Sn 2-a-Fe(Sn) system is shown. (paper)
