Two-dimensional one-group neutron transport in transverse cylindrical coordinates

  • 1. Univ. of Arizona, Tucson, AZ (United States)
  • 2. NASA-AMES Research Center, Moffett Field, CA (United States)

Description

Solutions of the one group transport equation are provided for an infinite line source which emits neutrons in a specific direction everywhere along the line. The source is at the center of an infinite medium which scatters neutrons isotropically. Transverse cylindrical coordinates (ρ,α) are the natural reference frame for this problem. Specific one dimensional cases are discussed, and standard numerical techniques are used
