Evaluation of NPP dismantling cost

Description
The results of decommissioning cost estimation made by experts from Canada, FRG, Finland, Sweden and USA for NPPs with PWRs, BWRs and HWRs (Canada) are given. Studies were made with account of practice obtained while small nuclear plant dicommissionig,replacement and repair of the equipment at large nuclear power plants and conventional power plants with the same power. NPP dicommissioning cost is estimated from 97 to 186 mln. dollars according to the prices of 1984. Conclusion is made, that regarding these costs discounting, it is more favorable, from economical point of view, to conduct equipment dismantling within the period of 30 - 100 years, when the induced radioactivity reduces up to the established level
