Description
In 1983, activities focused on: ways of updating the nuclear materials balance, in particular as to its applicability in large reprocessing plants; evaluation of safeguard systems and optimum employment of inspectors by the monitoring authority; final functional tests of a camera system to be used by the IAEA; final measurements at personnel airlocks for the detection of misappropriated nuclear materials; evaluation of the IDA-80 interlaboratory test and summary of provisional results for the participants. Schwerpunkte der Taetigkeit: Arbeiten zur dynamischen Kernmaterialbilanzierung, vor allem im Hinblick auf ihre Anwendbarkeit in grossen Wiederaufarbeitungsanlagen, Arbeiten zur Bewertung von Ueberwachungssystemen und zum optimalen Einsatz von Inspektoren durch die Ueberwachungsbehoerden, abschliessende Funktionstests eines Kamerasystems fuer den Einsatz durch die IAEO, abschliessende Messungen an einer Personenschleuse zum Nachweis mitgefuehrten Kernmaterials, Auswertung des Interlaboratoriumstests IDA-80 und Zusammenfassung der vorlaeufigen Ergebnisse in Berichten fuer die Teilnehmer.
