Control of the electrochemical generation of metal negative ions during cathode polarization in solutions

Description

Potentiometric method to control the process of electrochemical generation of particles (Re-, Se2-, Te2-), based on the measurement of redox-potentials using two indicator amalgamated microelectrodes and mercury macrocathode, which in case of disrupted circuit plays the role of indicator electrode, is described. In combination with the methods of coulometry, oxidimetry and spectrophotometry it provides a quantitative evaluation of the process. The data obtained permit to conclude, that under the above-mentioned conditions of electrolysis the negative ions Re-, Se2-, Te2- are formed directly on the electrode according to electron mechanism
