Fast turnaround dedicated codes for tokamak magnetic field design

Creators

Description

This paper describes several codes which were developed for specific tasks; in particular to give extremely fast turn around, first order results and presentations of proposed magnetic configurations. Although the codes themselves use basic graphic techniques, least square solutions and many other standardized routines for calculating magnetic fields and fluxes, their primary advantage is in the speed in which the requested design criteria can be analyzed and presented to the originator for further discussion or for his use in reports and other presentations. Each code has simplified inputs which allows the user to specify concisely what requirements are to be met in the output design. Other attributes and procedures for using these programs are described in the paper as well as examples and sample presentations
