85Kr accumulation rate in the atmosphere
Creators
Description
Average annual concentration of 85Kr in surface air obtained by technical krypton sample measuring in three points within time period ranged from 1971 up to 1987 is presented. Estimation of 85Kr total content in the planet atmosphere is given. The observed concentration (0.82 Bq/m3 air in 1986) turned to be essentially lower than forecasting estimations obtained earlier on the basis of long-term development of nuclear power because all 85Kr formed at uranium and plutonium fission enters the atmosphere. Forecast of average annual 85Kr concentration in the air up to the end of the century is given in the assumption that the observed tendency of rate growth of radiokrypton injection into the atmosphere will remain
