Role of elastic stress pulses in brittle fracture of ionic crystals under electron irradiation
Description
The influence of elastic stress pulses on the dynamics of KCl, NaCl ionic crystals fracture under the effect of high density electron beams is investigated. It is shown that restricted sound beams generated in solids under electron irradiation effectively interact with different microcracks resulting in their intergrowth and cracking
