Direct CP violation observed in decays of neutral KL mesons
Description
Recent results on CP violation in K0 decays are reviewed. The measurement of ε'/ε of the NA31 Collaboration indicates for the first time that direct CP violation is present in the weak ΔS=1 transition of KL→ππ. This result agrees with models of CP violation through weak quark mixing in the Kobayashi-Maskawa scheme, but is at variance with the 'superweak' model of Wolfenstein. (orig.)
