Environmental seminar of Finnish peat industry
Description
The seminar, organized by the Association of Finnish Peat Industries, discussed the environmental aspect of the Finnish peat industry. The topics were: The effects of 'the Kyoto summit on climate change' on Finnish energy supply; the EU Natura programme and peat production in Finland; The life-cycle of peat; Peat industry and the increasing of the Finnish forest potential; Experiments of a conversion of the mire to an estuary for birds; Waste management at peat production sites; Peat in environmental management; International view on environmental issues of peat industry
