Secondary cooling device of LMFBR type reactor

  • 1. Nippon Atomic Industry Group Co. Ltd., Tokyo

Description

Purpose: To relax thermal effects applied from a secondary core cooling device or the like to a respective cooling system by connecting overflow pipelines for coolants cooled by the secondary core cooling device and a circulating pump respectively to an expansion tank. Constitution: Coolants from the air cooler, circulating pump, and overflow tank are introduced into an expansion tank, and mixed with original coolants present in the expansion tank, reaching a cold leg and a part of them is allowed to overflow into the overflow tank. Accordingly, even when a thermal disturbance is caused in the secondary cooling device, the disturbance is relaxed by the expansion tank, and adverse effects on the cold leg pipeline, circulating pump, intermediate heat exchanger, and further on the primary cooling device can be prevented.
