Role of nuclear binding in the EMC effect

Description

We reexamine the role of nuclear binding in the EMC effect. With the correct average single-particle energy and the proper light-cone normalization of the vertex functions, it is shown that the nuclear binding and the Fermi motion in the convolution model of the nucleon account for about 20% of the EMC effect in the mid-x region. Q2- and x-rescaling are used to make up the difference. (orig.)
