A transport model for Alcator scaling in tokamaks

Description

A theoretical model is proposed to explain the tokamak energy confinement time. With no adjustable numerical coefficients, the model predicts experimentally observed values to within a level of uncertainty consistent with the intrinsic spread of the experimental data and the necessity of calculating the confinement time without precise knowledge of the temperature profile.
