On the calculation of gaseous deposition velocity for niobium at its reduction by hydrogen from niobium pentachloride

Consideration is being given to some results of applying theory of heat- and mass-transfer similarity to calculation of velocity of niobium gaseous deposition on heated surface with participation of chemical reactions of hydrogen reduction out of its pentachloride. Temperature dependences of velocity of niobium deposition out of vapor-gas phase on heated sheet at NbCl5 reduction by hydrogen, possessing clearly defined maxima were obtained. It was shown that calculation of deposition velocities according to a criterion equation is possible in diffusion region. Calculation and experimental values of velocities of niobium deposition on heated sheet were correlated. The factor of linear correlation of calculation and experimental values of deposition velocities was equal to 0.91
