Probe atom dependence of nuclear quadrupolar relaxation in liquid alloys

Description
The effect of the probe atom on dynamical hyperfine interactions in liquids has been studied by measuring the temperature dependence of the quadrupolar relaxation rate Rsub(Q) on two chemically different probes (114sup(m)Sb, 207sup(m)sup(P)o) in In0, 5Pbsub(.)5. Model calculations are described which show that the difference between the two probe atoms may be explained qualitatively as due to the difference in atomic radii. (orig.)
